Brides of Somerset is an exclusive bridal outlet owned and operated by Averil since 2002, firstly as a franchisee of The Wedding Box, and subsequently as Brides of Somerset for the last 11 years.
Averil has stocked various brands e.g. Forever New, Enzoani, Morilee, and her own sourced designs in the past, however she has now settled with the beautiful Maggie Sottero range and is concentrating on maximising the marketing of these gowns.
The intimate Brides of Somerset studio is located in Somerset West in a residential area with easy access and parking. Averil has a substantial supply of wedding accessories from veils and garters to head ware and jewellery available in the studio for matching with the gowns or individual purchase.
Averil has an unmatched passion for what she does, and takes exceptional pride in being able to match a bride and her character, figure and personality to the correct gown for the big day. Averil does her own alterations to ensure that the necessary care and skill is used in altering a dress to suite the bride, and will also discuss and advise on alterations and modifications the bride may want.
The dresses are imported from overseas where professional designers with skills obtained from years of design work, knowledge of gown structure and the use of exceptional materials are responsible for the quality finished product and new designs on an ongoing basis. The gowns are imported and take several months to arrive subsequent to order, unless a stock unit is sold or is available in London in which case it is a matter of weeks before receipt. Averil herself conducts all fittings and appointments, with the result that she needs to work By Appointment Only.

Brides of Somerset was the second bridal boutique I visited in an attempt to find my hidden gem. My experience at a different boutique was nothing short of a disappointment but as soon as I walked into your boutique I knew I was in the right place. I described what it was I was looking for in a wedding dress and you managed to nail it within two dresses. Your handy work and guidance on the alterations that were needed to fully bring my vision to life is much appreciated. You knew exactly what look I was going for and you delivered. Throughout the months of back and forth dress fittings you remained welcoming, patient and reassuring. All these months later I still take my dress out of the bag to bask in its beauty.
