ETC Events was started in 2007 by Debbie Montague who has been involved in Wedding and Event Planning for 20 years in and around the country. She is passionate about Weddings and says ‘there is nothing as beautiful as a stress-free, glowing bride on her wedding day’. ETC Events provides a cost-effective service to brides that not only eases the stress of planning a Wedding but also offers a wealth of experience, saves you money and still involves the Bride in every aspect of the planning process.

Our standard wedding planning fee (excluding hard costs) is R20 000 for weddings under 200 and R25 000 for weddings over 200 people. We do offer customised packages to our brides depending on their individual requirements and this is why we offer a ‘no strings attached’ meeting/skype or phone call to discuss your Wedding. Our wedding would not have been the amazing day it was without you! The flowers were bright and happy and gorgeous and the decor was spot on. We loved that you totally got our concept of a long lazy lunch and what we wanted for the whole look and feel of the day and just made it happen – and with fantastic attention to detail. I have a wealth of experience DJing at weddings in KZN. I specialise in young and fun celebrations and am well known for getting the party started and keeping the dance floor full all night long. At 40 years young I have the ability and music knowledge to connect to any crowd. Most importantly, I am not a Club DJ and am well aware that your wedding is very different to any corporate event, birthday party or nightclub. It is at heart a celebration, but it needs to be conducted with the kind of professionalism, expertise and finesse that only years of actual wedding DJ experience can provide for.

I spend most weekends DJing at weddings in Durban and the KZN Midlands but am happy to travel to all corners of KZN and other parts of South Africa.  I have a fantastic team of professional DJs in Durban, Midlands and Ballito who I can rely on in case of emergencies like the 2020 lockdown. I wasn’t one of those children that had a camera around his neck at the age of 2. Actually, I didn’t grow up in a creative household.  Both my parents worked 9 to 5 jobs. After my A levels, I went to business school because that’s all I really knew.

I graduated and by chance got a teaching position at a university. And that became my career. Years later, I met a beautiful, artsy young woman from Norway whom I immediately fell in love with. We married and life was bliss. I fell into photography by chance. A student was getting married and wanted me to document her wedding. What a great experience and a great foundation. I immediately discovered my passion was documenting people and their lives. I felt such an emotional connection to capturing two people in love and having the opportunity to tell a story through my pictures.

I think of my own wedding as I photograph weddings for my clients. I know how magical that day was for my wife and me and how special it was to be surrounded by all our friends and family. My goal is to capture that feeling for you so you can relive your wedding day years from now as well. My couples tend to be laid back and care deeply about keeping their wedding authentic and meaningful.
