Brookdale Estate is as unexpected as she is enchanting. Hugged by the tranquil valley and surrounded by natural beauty, Brookdale Estate offers some of the region’s most innovative wine creations. This sprawling country estate, crowned by a Manor House which overlooks manicured indigenous gardens, wild fynbos, dipping valleys and towering hills, serves as a unique, working wine farm where imagination meets skill.
A true Cinderalla story, the estate was once overgrown and underused. The Rudd family saw its enormous potential and acquired the property with a clear vision in mind – to create a world-class country estate that produces fine and interesting wine blends using unusual varieties in a South African context. Before vines could be planted, alien vegetation had to be cleared, and the balance of nature restored. The Rudd family successfully cleared the 80 hectares of land, salvaging a block of Chenin Blanc that would become its maiden release and planted the remaining 53 hectares with indigenous vegetation and gardens for guests of the Manor House to explore. The property is also home to a Cellar, Tasting Room and Bistro.

Having done my first wedding at Highberry Wines in April 2022 as well as a kids birthday party, I can certainly say that this venue has reached my top 10 in the Western Cape. Nestled under the Hottentots mountains and just off from Sir Lowry’s Pass, this venue is the last farm on the road, which allows for complete privacy. Surrounded by vineyards a dam and views of the mountain, you’ve got the complete package with this venue. Where do we even begin?!?!?! The former of our wedding planning months are no longer relevant as the Eikenhof team literally took our vision together with our incredible service provider team to pull off the most incredible day we could ever have imagine. We were venue less 1 week prior to our wedding day and through wonderful friends we had the privilege of meeting Marieta and Peter. From the moment we set foot at Eikenhof they were readily available to help, assist and do anything they could to make our day what we had envisioned it to be and BETTER! The attention to detail, communication between ourselves and our suppliers was just so refreshing, if stressed out were people, we were certainly those people. And through the storm we felt we were in they made us see the rainbow and executed on a breath-taking day nothing less than perfect. From the staffing, bar service, catering, availability of personnel, you guys were on the ball and just there at our service to assist with whatever was required.
The villa we stayed at the night before the wedding aswell as the night of the wedding was exquisite. Everything fitted our theme of our day perfectly and we were in awe of the beauty of the venue. Eikenhof certainly is a venue I would highly recommend, nestled away in the middle of the winelands, it really is a perfect venue for both intimate wedding or larger wedding settings. We felt so connected to our guests during the church service under the pergola and even during our photo session, everything felt homely and warm and perfect.
