Portland Manor

 

Portland Manor is a historical country estate, situated on a working farm in Rheenendal, a 25-minute drive from central Knysna, on the scenic Garden Route.

Surrounded by 212 hectares of undisturbed wilderness with forests of indigenous trees and rich birdlife, the recently refurbished Residence and Manor House have views across the landscaped gardens to the Lawnwood Dam and beyond to the Outeniqua Mountains.

FOREST CHAPEL
Our open-air Chapel situated at the edge of the Lawnwood Dam is a beautiful natural forest area, which can seat up to 80 guests.

LAWNWOOD DECK
An amphitheater style deck overlooking the Lawnwood Dam which can seat up to 50 guests.

MANOR HOUSE TERRACE
Shaded by our Historic Pepper tree and overlooking the Outeniqua Mountains can seat up to 24 guests.

THE MANOR HOUSE
In The Manor House Dining Room, guests step back in time for an old-world elegant experience. The dining room can seat up to 24 Guests.
Exclusive use includes:
• The use of Forest Chapel or Lawnwood deck.
• The use of 24-fold up white wooden chairs for the ceremony (Additional chairs can be arranged at an additional cost)
• Standard Manor House tables and chairs
• Standard cutlery, crockery & glassware
• Waiting staff

Table décor or floral arrangements can be arranged at an additional cost.

THE COWSHED EATERY
The old cowshed offers a charming country atmosphere. Can seat up to 80 guests inside and offers the terrace as dance floor.

Exclusive use includes:
• The use of Forest Chapel or Lawnwood deck.
• The use of 80-fold up white wooden chairs for the ceremony (Additional chairs can be arranged at an additional cost)
• Standard cowshed tables and chairs
• Standard cutlery, crockery & glassware
• Waiting staff

MANOR HOUSE ACCOMMODATION

4 en-suite bedrooms with king beds and two bedrooms with king beds sharing a bathroom.

CATERING & THE COWSHED EATERY

Catering is provided according to your unique needs, starting with canapes and your preferred drinks, followed by main courses which vary from plated menus, buffet style menus, a customised menu, or a spit braai.

Portland Manor focuses on grass-fed lamb, macadamia nuts, avocados, honey, and proteas. As we are surrounded by dairy, livestock, and fruit farms as well as our own kitchen garden and tunnel, our food ethos focuses on wholesome farm food, packed with comfort and flavour, incorporating tastes from our area.

From the moment we chose Portland Manor as our wedding venue, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our special day was flawless. Jolene and her team were a beacon of creativity.  Their attention to detail and exceptional hosting skills not only made our wedding memorable but also stress-free.
