At Top Wedding Suppliers, we’ve curated a selection of trusted and experienced wedding Masters of Ceremonies, each known for ensuring a seamless, well-managed, and engaging celebration.
A professional Master of Ceremonies plays a central role in your wedding reception — guiding the flow of the day, making key announcements, and keeping guests informed and engaged. From introducing speeches and special moments to coordinating with your planner, venue, and entertainment, an MC helps ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
Choosing the right MC is about finding someone whose style, presence, and energy align with your vision, whether you’re looking for a more refined, understated approach or a lively, high-energy host. A great MC not only keeps the schedule on track but also sets the tone for the entire celebration.
To help you get started, you can:
- Request quotes from multiple MCs at once, or
- Contact individual MCs directly to find the right fit for your wedding
Wedding Masters of Ceremonies often book out 6–24 months in advance, particularly for peak dates, so it’s worth reaching out early to secure your preferred MC.
If you’re unsure where to start, we recommend shortlisting a few MCs whose style and personality align with your celebration, and getting in touch to check availability.

David Robinson Master of Ceremonies
Welcome to the MC world of the one and only David Robinson, a bilingual Master of Ceremonies, your English and Afrikaans MC of choice. My journey as a performer all started when I finished my Bachelor of Arts degree in Live performance from AFDA Film and Drama school in 2006. I used this training to pursue a career in the performing arts, and appeared in numerous TV adverts including Vodacom, Tropika, Nestlé, Debonairs and Standard bank to name a few. The excitement and adventure of performing while traveling then drew me in, and this is when I worked on the MSC Sinfonia as an entertainer and host for 2 seasons. The passion I have for talking in front of people was what made this experience so worthwhile, especially when hosting events for over 500 people at a time. Click here to see more.
We would just like to thank David Robinson for being the MC for our wedding 05-03:2021 at Shepstone Gardens. David knows how to entertain a crowd, he had all our guest entertained from start to finish. David has a way that just seems so effortless when he is in-front of a crowd. When picking our MC we thought we looking for someone that has no problem with crowds, can make people laugh and that can get the guests attention, David did not have to speak twice to get our guests attention. I would highly recommend David for any event, he sure knows how to get a crowd’s attention. – Shannon Jonker & Gabriel Jonker
What Is a Wedding Master of Ceremonies?
A wedding Master of Ceremonies is responsible for hosting and managing the flow of your wedding reception. This includes welcoming guests, introducing speakers, announcing key moments such as entrances and cake cutting, and ensuring the event stays on schedule while maintaining a comfortable and engaging atmosphere.
Roles & Responsibilities of a Wedding MC
Wedding MCs handle formalities such as speeches, toasts and transitions between events, while also keeping guests informed and entertained. They act as a central point of communication between the couple, venue staff and suppliers, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
MC Style & Presentation
Every wedding has its own tone, and professional MCs tailor their delivery to suit your style — whether formal and elegant, relaxed and friendly, or energetic and entertaining. Couples can discuss preferences in advance to ensure the MC’s personality aligns perfectly with their celebration.
Working With DJs & Wedding Planners
Wedding MCs often work closely with DJs, live bands and wedding planners to coordinate timing, cues and announcements. This collaboration helps create seamless transitions throughout the reception and ensures key moments happen exactly as planned.
Keeping the Celebration Flowing
An experienced wedding MC understands guest flow, timing and energy levels. By pacing the event correctly and managing transitions smoothly, they help create a well-balanced celebration that keeps guests engaged while allowing the couple to enjoy every moment stress-free.
