As a couple, we have been walking quite a journey with the very talented Mikael Gouws. He has been a part of a few special occasions in our lives including our wedding day, and we can truly testify that not only is he talented, he has what it takes to make anyone feel comfortable and confident. I am Wynand and I am a Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa, available for weddings nationwide. I believe we are part of a bigger story and I love that people allow me to capture a huge part of their STORY! I have a more documentary approach to photography whereby I document your day with very creative techniques, rather than styling every photograph…similar to a fly on a wall. I also love creating images where your friends and family’s reaction will be “OH WOW, I can’t believe that is you!” And for this, I will do a little styling, but I try to limit these photos because they tend to be less emotional…and I LOVE EMOTION!

I always say to my clients, “Please cry on your wedding day, because they are happy tears and not sad tears!” You will be forever grateful for experiencing your wedding day full of emotion, because that is what you remember…your emotions. 50 years from now, you will not remember what you looked like, but you will remember what you felt like. So you need photos and videos to remember what you looked like, and what better way to have a beautiful wedding album or a printed photo on the wall of the moment during your BIG DAY when you were the happiest! priceless!

I am truly privileged to walk this journey with so many clients until the day they say “I do” and some couples even become really good friends after their wedding. I even love the fact that I have done family photos for some of them for which I am truly grateful.
