Based in Cape Town, The Long Street Premium Band is a high-energy, world-class cover band led by internationally acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Jeremy Olivier. Known for their versatility, groove, and infectious stage presence, the band performs everything from soul and jazz to pop and funk, making them a go-to act for festivals, corporate events, weddings, and exclusive private functions.
At the heart of the band is Jeremy Olivier, whose music journey began in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe. A gifted guitarist from a young age, Jeremy toured nationally in a rock band by age 14. He later moved to Cape Town, earning a BMus Honours in Jazz Performance from the University of Cape Town. Over the years, Jeremy has performed across South Africa and internationally in Europe and the U.S., sharing stages with legends like George Benson, Oliver Mtukudzi, Katherine Jenkins, Jonathan Butler, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
A former finalist on The Voice South Africa, Jeremy combines vocal prowess, songwriting skill, and magnetic stage presence. After spending five years living and performing in Europe — where he collaborated with international artists and released his acclaimed album Where the Light Gets In — Jeremy has returned to Cape Town, bringing a fresh global perspective and renewed energy to the local music scene.
On bass is Shaun Johannes, a highly accomplished musician with a 25-year career in performance, arrangement, and composition. Shaun got his start playing piano in school and church, later switching to bass and joining Cape Town’s acclaimed youth ensemble, The Little Giants. He earned top academic honors at UCT and quickly became one of South Africa’s most in-demand bassists. Shaun has performed at major festivals like the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and toured with icons such as Andrea Bocelli, Johnny Clegg, and George Benson. He also works as a musical director, composer, producer, and lecturer at UCT’s Jazz Studies program, bringing technical mastery and creative depth to the band.
Jason Ward holds down the drums with style and flair. Known for his work with The Blue Room Bros, Jason blends jazz sophistication with a modern edge. His resume includes collaborations with Black Coffee, Micasa, Frank Paco, Chad Saaiman, and Hilton Schilder. A magnetic and energetic performer, Jason’s drumming is the driving force behind the band’s tight, rhythmic sound.
