Pat Busch
| Maximum Capacity: 300 | Accommodation: Yes (100) | Chapel: Yes |
At the end of a country road, set high in a fynbos valley surrounded by mountains on 3 sides, you will find the idyllic Pat Busch Mountain Reserve. This private nature reserve lies just beyond Robertson in the Cape Winelands, less than 2 hours scenic drive from Cape Town, and is the perfect blank canvas, a weekend destination wedding venue in the mountains.
There are numerous ceremony areas from which to choose ranging from the jetty overlooking the mountain dam, to a poplar forest with a stream, a poolside setting or a lush meadow with mountain views, or a firm favourite is beneath the ancient oak tree. Any venue or a combination can be used for the ceremony, pre-drinks and the reception. Couples have the freedom to not only arrange a pre-wedding informal ‘Meet & Greet’ the night before the wedding, (which is the perfect opportunity to catch up with family & friends), but also an informal Farewell breakfast the day after the wedding. Here the newlyweds have a chance to say final thank yous & goodbyes to their wedding guests, expressing gratefulness for making lifelong wedding memories together. Click here to see more.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow, what a venue! The surroundings are absolutely unreal with 10 stylish and comfortable Africamp Boutique glamping ‘tents’, lovely smaller cottages, and a big farmhouse all nestled in the heart of the mountains, so close it feels as if you can touch them. The Pat Busch team organised the set up/break down and accommodated all my (some unusual) requests perfectly. Other benefits of using Pat Busch as a wedding venue: No curfew (we partied into the very early hours), being able to bring in external suppliers to create exactly what you want and manage costs better, and a recommended list of tried-and-tested suppliers who are used to doing weddings there and can offer invaluable advice/guidance. We truly had the most magical weekend and were so proud to show our UK guests the best of SA. – Dianne Lesche

Choosing a Rustic Wedding Venue
Rustic venues often blend the simplicity of the countryside with modern elegance, offering a charming and stylish setting for your wedding. Choosing a venue is the first step in your wedding planning journey and can be an unnerving choice to make. Tip: Book your venue 12 to 9 months before your wedding date to ensure availability.
Here are 5 reasons to choose a farm style wedding venue:
- Farm venues typically offer a tranquil and beautiful backdrop for your wedding, providing stunning photo opportunities and a peaceful atmosphere.
- With the expansive outdoor and indoor spaces that farms usually provide, you’ll have plenty of room for your ceremony, reception and any additional activities you plan.
- Celebrating your wedding on a farm connects you and your guests with nature, offering a refreshing change from the typical urban or indoor venue.
- The natural beauty of a farm venue means you can often keep decorations minimal, or you can choose to enhance the space with your own creative touches.
- Farms are usually located away from busy city centers, providing a more private and exclusive setting for your wedding.
Once you have chosen a breathtaking venue it will be much easier to turn it into your envisioned perfect day. But there will be restrictions that will nudge your decision towards the right place.
What is the capacity of the venue?
Are they available on your preferred date?
How far would your guests need to travel?
Is there accommodation nearby and on the estate?
What is Plan B in case of cold/rainy weather?
Most venues offer different wedding packages so keep an eye out for them to see what is included. Make sure you understand the fine print and the after-hour charges. Open and clear communication between you and the venue management team is crucial to ensure both parties understand requirements and preferences.
We wish you all the best with your venue search and we hope you find your dream venue in our list!
