My husband, Pieter, and I got married at Zorgvliet on August 29, 2015 and we would highly recommend both the Zorgvliet venue and Christine as a coordinator to anyone considering getting married in the Stellenbosch region. After leaving the dance floor at 3:00am and strolling down the beautiful lane to the honeymoon suite, Pieter and I kept saying to each other just how perfect our wedding was and that we wouldn’t change a single thing. So much of our incredible day can be attributed to the behind the scenes efforts of Christine and her team at Zorgvliet for which we will be forever thankful.
Christine and her team supported us every step of the way. From the start of our wedding planning process where Christine promptly answered my (many!) questions via email, to the lead up to the wedding where Christine’s strong attention to detail combined with her knowledge of the Zorgvliet venue ensured that all of the key wedding details were discussed with us and decided on in advance, to our actual wedding day where Christine’s team were completely on top of things and typically one step ahead of us. By the time we had thought to ask about something, it would have already been taken care of by Christine and her team which made everything run so smoothly on the day of.
The advice that Christine provided us throughout the planning process was invaluable. We incorporated several of her suggestions in our wedding, many of which ended up being some of our favourite aspects of the day. We had the great pleasure of choosing Zorgvliet for our daughter’s wedding. After hours of surfing the web and doing much research, we narrowed our search and visited Zorgvliet at the end of January to view and book the venue.
We were shown around the property by Bernalee van der Walt, who proved a font of information and was willing to answer all questions, no matter how trite. She gave us full details of what to expect, never forced her ideas on us but was always willing to offer advice. We loved the place, the people and the prospect of a wedding at Zorgvliet from the outset.
The planning of this wedding was particularly difficult as our daughter was living in Phoenix, Arizona and my husband and I live in Gauteng. We also had a number of Americans who came out for the wedding. Bernelee had to contend with e- mails from Kallan, who had her own idea of what she wanted as well as from me, the mom.
Questions were patiently and kindly answered and answers were always detailed and explanatory. We were never swayed from any of our decisions but often needed advice which was always excellent and proved Bernelee’s experience and capability of handling and arranging anything.
Dealing with her was especially pleasant as she was always polite, willing to listen, willing to go the extra mile to help and so well prepared.
